The problem now is that hyperpartisanship SELLS. Like hotcakes. You have people like Franken writing "Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot", and then you have people like Ann Coulter upping the ante in spades with books like "If Democrats Had Brains, They'd Be Republicans".

There's big, big money is getting one half of the country to hate the other half of the country. The really depressing part is how easily people in general, on both sides, have been manipulated.
